Senior Account Executive

POSITION OVERVIEW:  We are seeking to hire a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to manage the relationship and scope of work between the agency and various clients. SAEs serve as the liaison between the client and agency’s internal staff to ensure the client’s needs and goals are being met on every project. The SAE manages the client’s marketing budgets, creating and overseeing the execution of strategic marketing plans based on the client’s goals and objectives, along with addressing day-to-day needs. The SAE is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with clients and going above and beyond service expectations.

Reporting into the Managing Director of Accounts and Client Services, the Senior Account Executive is key to supporting the growth of our clients business by building relationships, advising clients and collaborating with internal teams based on data and insights. The SAE must be able to manage client stakeholder relationships and understand the objectives of our clients programs and its impact on their business. They must be able to build, plan and execute strategies that promote and execute on our clients’ and our agency’s goals. Critical thinking skills are a must. The candidate must be a highly motivated, positive, organized self-starter who can work well with a variety of tasks and adapt quickly to different business needs and projects. From day one, the candidate must be accountable, detail and task oriented, and able to deliver valuable, accurate and professional results and communications on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Account Management & Business Development

  • Client management and retention
  • Build strong relationships across key client stakeholders
  • Strategic planning, marketing plan development and execution
  • Projections, analysis and tracking of ROI
  • Gain a keen understanding of the clients business, products, services, and customers
  • Project coordination with Agency Planner, Creative, Digital, Web and other internal teams
  • Build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with external contacts
  • Work with the Executive Team to drive new and organic business development opportunities for the agency
  • Manage client budgets by campaign
  • Monitor and report campaign performance to client
  • Assist with creation and development of media plans and public relations strategies
  • Market, competition and industry analysis
  • Event planning

Project Management

  • Understand and determine priorities, effectively manage time and develop work plans in order to accomplish tasks and/or projects across all relevant departments which need to be engaged. (Creative, Account teams, Web, Digital, etc.)
  • Ensure all media and earned campaigns are results oriented and provide ongoing campaign and business strategies.
  • Performing Quality Assurance of all media campaign assets prior to launch and proactively troubleshoot solving performance issues
  • Immediately communicate any issues or problems related to fulfillment, delivery and/or quality of digital assets trafficked to internal stakeholders

Analytics

  • Review performance results with media and digital teams and clearly communicate recommendations for strategic shifts to the client.
  • Ability to employ moderate-to-advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google products to manage analyses and present data-heavy information in clear and concise manner to all levels of the organization.

Communication

  • Be responsive with communication while managing multiple projects.
  • Be available for clients.
  • Be professional with all communication and build relationships across teams within the agency.
  • Effectively participate and contribute as a member of a work group team.

Industry Knowledge

  • Always be learning: reading relevant blogs and articles, attending training sessions, talking to experts, other team members and taking an interest generally in marketing and other trends that affect job enhancement and knowledge.
  • Be plugged in to new trends and developments across the client’s industry and particularly within the client’s sector.
  • Understand the different types of available and emerging media, particularly online, including constraints and opportunities presented by each.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Outstanding communication (both written and verbal), organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to solve problems positively, quickly and creatively while adapting to change
  • Knowledge of media outlets, audience behaviors, and content strategies that strengthen campaigns across all channels
  • Experience with digital analytics and online reporting tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow through
  • Capability to work proactively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
  • Understand customer needs and build relationships
  • Capability to collaborate with multiple teams (Project Management, Content, Creative, Media, Digital, etc.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people
  • Professional appearance and persona
  • Working long hours, especially under tight deadlines
  • Travel to the client may be required
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage numerous projects and prioritize day to day requests effectively

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of marketing experience
  • Understanding of content marketing platforms and strategies
  • Experience and understanding with digital analysis—CTR, PPC, and related integrated marketing strategies
  • Experience using social media, mobile and paid platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Google
  • Strong computer skills including full Microsoft Suite and Google Suite, Dropbox and similar tools
  • Professional writing experience is preferred

LOCATION AND SCHEDULE

  • Decatur, IL Headquarters Preferred but will consider Chicago, IL Office
  • 8:00am-5:00pm Monday – Friday
  • Hybrid: in-office 3 days per week / remote 2 days per week
